Both Xi'an and Chengdu have excellent subway systems. Signs and announcements are in Chinese and English. You can buy single-trip tickets at machines (English available), or simply scan your phone using Alipay's transport QR code.
How do I get from the airport to the city center?
- Xi'an: Metro Line 14 connects the airport to the city. Taxis take about 40-60 minutes.
- Chengdu: Metro Line 18 connects Tianfu Airport. Taxis take 50-70 minutes.

Can I use bike-sharing?
Yes. Meituan Bike and Hellobike are the two main services. You'll need Alipay or WeChat to scan the QR code and unlock a bike. It's a fantastic way to explore neighborhoods.

For high-speed trains between cities, use Trip.com or the official 12306 app. We recommend booking 1-2 weeks in advance, especially during Chinese holidays.
